Residency Program

Eye Exam

The Kaiser Permanente Hawaii Internal Medicine Residency Program opens the door to exciting opportunities. Upon finishing your three years of training, you’ll be well-prepared to pass the ABIM Internal Medicine Board Certification Examination. Whether you remain in Hawaii or decide to pursue opportunities elsewhere, you’ll be ready for a career in primary care, academic medicine, or public health.

Every resident advances through a competency-based education and evaluation program that emphasizes primary care. Our curriculum focuses on ambulatory aspects of internal medicine, including all major subspecialties. Your mentors will be highly regarded physicians of the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group and others on our health care team, in partnership with Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Kaiser Foundation Hospital.
