Commitment to Education
The Kaiser Permanente Hawaii Residency Program will train pioneering new internal medicine doctors who are interested in becoming part of the future of health care. While traditional programs focus on training in a hospital, our program aims to train doctors who understand that health care is moving from hospitals to ambulatory care settings. The Kaiser Permanente Hawaii Residency Program will facilitate the development of the residents’ professional and personal skills while ensuring that our patients continue to receive safe and appropriate care.
Our residency program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
Commitment to Quality Care
Year after year, Kaiser Permanente is recognized locally and nationally for our commitment to high-quality care. Here’s what the country’s leading health care authorities are saying about our top-quality care:
Top ratings for commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid plans
Of the health plans reviewed by the National Committee for Quality Assurance, our commercial plan earned a rating of 4.5 out of 5, making it one of the highest rated plans in the state. Our Medicare plan was the only plan in Hawaii to receive the highest possible rating of 5 out of 5. 2017 marks the 13th year in a row that our Medicare and Medicaid plans were recognized as the No. 1 health plan in Hawaii, and the 10th year our commercial plan has received top marks.
171 of our physicians in more than 50 specialties were named among the nation’s medical elite by one or both of the 2017-18 Best Doctors and Castle Connolly Top Doctors lists. They were selected by their peers to join a coveted list of the most respected doctors in Hawaii, and the ones that other top doctors would trust for their loved ones and themselves.
Most recommended brand among women
Kaiser Permanente has received the 2018 Women’s Choice Award as America’s most recommended brand among women for Cancer, Obstetric, and Bariatric care. Brands that earned the Women’s Choice Award were recommended by 9 out of 10 female consumers in a nation-wide survey.
